Welcome. This is the home of steve(stretch) carroll. The purpose of this site is to provide you with an introduction to what I'm all about.This page is for your eyes, its about me connecting with people through photography.Other pages are for your ears and music related.I hope you find something of interest and look forward to receiving any feedback you may have.

Photography
Its like djing,give the people what they want.For the disablists dj's its about capturing the moment naturally.If this image were sharp it would be dry (street talk, I think).

  For the family above its about exploiting how photogenic they are and the environment they are in.The composition is contrived but the smiles are very very real

See about a boy gallery for more examples.

I am based in the heart of England, a stones throw from Birmingham city centre.The majority of shoots take place in and around the midlands area.It is also ideal for reaching most parts of the country within a few hours.

Previous shoots have included;

  • Sports events
  • Live entertainment events
  • Various social events(birthdays etc)
  • Informal suplementary wedding photography
  • New generation portrait and family assignments

The most recent assignment in June 2007 was to shoot a half marathon in North Birmingham sponsored by BMW

 Another example (as featured below) is a recent assignment to photograph the band "Thrift". The bands opinion of the service and the photographs from that gig are shown here.

"I have known steve for a few years and he has always had this creative edge that we tap into from time to time. He has produced short films to compliment our music. The results were mind blowing, it's as though he could read our minds and knew exactly what we wanted."

"This latest job we had for Steve was simple! Can you get us some decent pictures of the band playing live for our website.Thats all I said, and look at the results, I'll say no more, the images do all the talking"
